We did not stay for finals.

During the year, we got three new Junior Champions (Suma, Torsti, Valma) and one new Finnish Champion (Pulma)! At the winner shows Raimo got three new titles.

Raimo also competed in mantrailing trials three times in the Winners class but did not get a pass.

Nine of the 13 puppies born in 2021 passed their Novice class trails, three of them even continued competing in the Open class, and one got his first Pass in Open (MB Inglorious Mustard, Gunnar).

 With the two BIS2 breeder placements, Maple Bay placed 46^th on the Breeder of the Year (all breed) competition of the Finnish Kennel Club. Thank you so much to the active owners! <3

VUODEN 2021 KOHOKOHDAT

19.5.

Viides Maple Bay pentue syntyi (Sam x Sheila). Pentuja oli 15 mutta valitettavasti kaksi poikaa menehtyi. Lopullinen saldo oli 13 (7 u+6n). Pennuista neljä meni ulkomaille (yksi narttu ja uros Ruotsiin, yksi narttu USAan ja yksi uros Kanadaan), loput jäivät Suomeen. Itse pidin keltapantaisen tytön, Suman (Maple Bay Linda Cookes Sumack N Sumack).

12.6.

Jälkikoe Kurussa, tuomarina Seija Heinola. Raimo sai kolmannen ja viimeisen AVO1-tuloksen ja siirtyi voittajaluokkaan. Se oli myös kokeen kokonaisvoittaja. Myös veljensä Hermanni sai viimeisen AVO1-tuloksensa.

15.7.

Raili (LvJW-12 Maple Bay My True Telstar) kuoli. 😭 Raililla oli epiteliotrooppinen lymfooma ja se oli kortisonilääkityksellä. Valitettavasti Raili kuoli lämpöhalvaukseen. 💔

24.7.

Suomen Vihikoirayhdistyksen 50-vuotiserikoisnäyttely Uuraisilla, tuomarina Leni Finne.

ROP (ja ROP-VET) oli Railin sisko Ulla FI MVA Maple Bay Echo Of True, jonka omistaa ystäväni Riikka-Lea Puuska. Tämä oli Ullan kolmas erkkarivoitto! 💖 

Tuula (Maple Bay Anise In Wonderland) oli PN2 kera sertin. Viljami (Maple Bay We Belong To You And Me) oli VSP kera sertin ja Raimo (FI MVA Maple Bay Thyme Waits No One) PU2. Maple Bay kasvattajaluokka oli myös ROP-kasvattaja. 

21.8.

Viljami valioitui (ROP ja sert) Ruoveden ryhmänäyttelyssä, tuomarina Sakari Poti.

23.10.

Suma ja neljä sisarustaan olivat ensimmäistä kertaa näyttelyssä, Lahden pentunäyttelyssä. Tuomarina oli Juha Lehtinen. Suma oli ROP ja RYP4, veljensä Gunnar oli VSP. Meillä oli myös ROP-kasvattajaryhmä, ja pääsimme loppukilpailussa jatkoon suuresta kasvattajaryhmien joukosta.

6.11. 

Suomen Vihikoirayhdistyksen epävirallinen joukkueottelu pidettiin Kurussa, tuomarina oli Johanna Niinimäki. Raimo ja Viljami uusivat viimevuotisen voittonsa.

 

6.12.

Tuula valioitui (ROP ja sert) Valkeakosken ryhmänäyttelyssä, tuomarina oli Sophie Aspholm.

 

18.12.

Helsinki Winner 2021 näyttely Helsingissä, tuomarina Marja Talvitie. Vihikoiria oli ilmoitettu neljä. Raimo oli ROP kera Nordsertin ja HeW-21 -tittelin, VSP oli Viljamin sisko Pulma (Maple Bay She Can Do No Wrong) kera sertin, Nordsertin ja HeW-21 -tittelin.

Highlights of the year 2021

 

May 19th

The fifth Maple Bay litter (Sam x Sheila) was born. There were 15 puppies (!) but unfortunately we lost two boys. Final count was 13 (7 boys, 6 girls). Four puppies went abroad (one girl and one boy to Sweden, one girl to US and one boy to Canada), the rest stayed in Finland. I kept the Yellow collar girl, Suma, Maple Bay Linda Cookes Sumack N Sumack.

June 12th

Mantrailing trial in Kuru, judged by Ms. Seija Heinola. Raimo got his 3rd and last Open class result and moved on to the Winners class. He was also the Grand trial winner. Also his brother Hermanni got his last Open class result.

 

July 15th

Raili (LvJW-12 Maple Bay My True Telstar) passed away. ☹ She was 10 yrs and 2 months old. She had epitheliotropic lymphoma and was on cortisone. Unfortunately she died because of a heat stroke.

 

July 24th

The 50 Years Anniversary Specialty show of the Finnish Bloodhound Club in Uurainen, judge Mrs. Leni Finne.

Best In Specialty Show (and Best Veteran) was Raili’s sister Ulla, FI CH Maple Bay Echo Of True, owned by my friend Riikka-Lea Puuska. This was her 3rd Specialty win! <3

Tuula (Maple Bay Anise In Wonderland) was BB2 with a CC. Viljami (Maple Bay We Belong To You And Me) was BOS with a CC, Raimo (FI CH Maple Bay Thyme Waits No One) BM2. We also won BISS Breeder.

 

August 21st

Viljami finished his FI CH title (BOB and CC) at the Ruovesi group show under Mr. Sakari Poti, Finland.

 

October 23rd

Suma and four of her siblings were shown for the first time at the unofficial puppy show in Lahti. The judge was Mr. Juha Lehtinen, Finland. Suma took BOB and Group 4, her brother Gunnar was BOS. We also got BOB Breeders group and made the cut in the huge Breeders group final.

 

November 6th

We had the unofficial team trial of the Finnish Bloodhound Club in Kuru, judged by Mrs. Johanna Niinimäki. Our team (Raimo&Viljami) repeated their win from last year!

 

December 6th

Tuula finished her FI CH title (BOB and CC) at the Valkeakoski group show under Mrs. Sophie Aspholm, Finland.

 

December 18th

Helsinki Winner 2021 show in Helsinki, judged by Mrs. Marja Talvitie, Finland. Four bloodhounds entered.

Raimo took BOB with a NordCC and the title HeW-21, BOS was Viljami’s sister Pulma (Maple Bay She Can Do No Wrong) with a CC, NordCC and the title HeW-21.

Pentusuunnitelmia! // Puppy plans!!

Pentue suunnitteilla ensi keväälle, Sheila x Sam <3. Siemennysajankohta pitäisi olla maaliskuussa. 

Litter planned for next spring, Sheila x Sam <3. Insemination should take place in March.

Päivitystä 2020 // Updates 2020

Päivitykset on unohtuneet tänä vuonna, joten tässä yhteenveto lopuista tämän vuoden tapahtumista.

13-14.6. oli Kurussa kaksi jälkikoetta. Lauantaina kaksi koiraa viime pentueesta suoritti alokasluokan kokeen, Jalo (MB I Hope You Don’t Mind) ja Viljami (MB We Belong To You And Me). Viljami oli myös kokeen kokonaisvoittaja. Tuomarina oli Heikki Hahko.

Sunnuntaina kolmas koira samasta pentueesta, Ropi (MB It's In His Kiss), suoritti myös alokasluokan ja oli luokkavoittaja. Avoimessa luokassa edellisen pentueen urokset Raimo (MB Thyme Waits No One) ja Hermanni (MB Tarragon Telcontar) saivat molemmat toisen hyväksytyn AVO-luokan tuloksensa ja Hermanni oli kokeen kokonaisvoittaja. Tuomarina oli Virpi Hahko. Raimo ja Hermanni tarvitsevat enää yhden AVO 1 -tuloksen päästäkseen voittajaluokkaan.

Lisäksi kolmas Viljamin veljistä, Wilson (MB Dream Maker You Heart Breaker), suoritti alokaskokeensa Loimaan kokeessa syyskuussa ollen myös kokeen kokonaisvoittaja. Tuomarina oli Seija Heinola.

1.8.oli Suomen Bassetkerhon erikoisnäyttely Porissa. Vihikoirat  arvosteli Perttu Ståhlberg. Raimo oli ROP ja sai myös kiertopalkinnot Paras Pää ja Parhaat Liikkeet. Sheila (Badgershill Smoke On The Water) oli VSP ja poikansa Viljami PU2 kera sertin ja se oli samalla myös ROP-juniori. Loppukilpailuissa pojat pärjäsivät hienosti. Viljami oli Best In Show Juniori 2 (sama tuomari) ja Raimo sijoittui neljänneksi Best In Showssa (11 rodun joukosta), tuomarina oli Erja Nummi.

17-18.10. pidettiin sukukokous-/jälkitreeniviikonloppu kotonani. Tänä vuonna paikalla oli yhteensä 10 Maple Bay-vihiä plus Sheila (joka on tuonti). Kaikilla oli oikein hauskaa. Toivon että nähdään taas kaikkien kanssa ensi vuoden kokoontumisajoissa!

31.10. oli Suomen Vihikoirayhdistyksen epävirallinen joukkueottelu Järvelässä. Osallistujat otteluun kutsutaan kuluneen vuoden koetulosten perusteella. Raimo ja Viljami saivat molemmat kutsun ja ne muodostivat oman joukkueen. Raimo suoritti tuoreen kaupunkijäljen ja Viljami 6h vanhan metsäjäljen, jonka lopussa oli tunnistus kolmen henkilön joukosta. Molemmat suoriutuivat hienosti ja joukkueemme voitti ottelun.

I’ve been lazy with updating this site this yr too, so here’s the summary of our year.

June 13-14th we had two  trials in Kuru. First on Saturday, two of the puppies from my last litter passed the Novice class, Jalo (MB I Hope You Don’t Mind) and Viljami (MB We Belong To You And Me). Viljami was also the Grand Trial Winner. Judge was Mr. Heikki Hahko.

On Sunday, another littermate Ropi (MB It’s In His Kiss) passed the Novice class too (Class Winner), and Raimo (MB Thyme Waits No One) and Hermanni (MB Tarragon Telcontar) from the previous litter both got their second Open class result, Hermanni being the Grand Trial Winner. Judge was Mrs. Virpi Hahko. Raimo and Hermanni need now only one Open class result to move on to the Winners class.

Also a third littermate to Viljami, Wilson (MB Dream Maker You Heart Breaker), passed his Novice class trial at the trial held in Loimaa in September, he was also the Grand Trial Winner. Judge was Ms. Seija Heinola.

August 1st was the Specialty show of the Basset Club of Finland in Pori. Bloodhounds were judged by Mr. Perttu Ståhlberg, Finland. Raimo took BOB with challenge trophies for Best Head and Best Movement. Sheila (Badgershill Smoke On The Water) was BOS, and her son Viljami Best Male 2, with a CC and he was also BOB Junior. At the finals the boys did very well – Viljami was Best In Show Junior 2 (judged by the same judge) and Raimo placed fourth in the Best In Show (among 11 different breeds), judged by Mrs. Erja Nummi, Finland.

October 17-18th we had a family reunion/ trailing practice weekend at my place. This year we had altogether 10 Maple Bay bloodhounds present; plus Sheila, who’s an import. We all had a great time. Hope to see you all at the next year’s reunion too!

On October 31st was the unofficial team trial of the Finnish Bloodhound Association in Järvelä. The participants are invited based on the mantrailing trial results obtained that year. Raimo and Viljami were invited and they formed one team together. Raimo worked the fresh urban trail and Viljami the 6 hr old forest trail with ID at the end among three persons. They both did very well and our team won the trial.

Raimo (Maple Bay Thyme Waits No One) oli tänään ROP kera sertin ja valioitui Jämijärven ryhmänäyttelyssä, tuomarina oli Hannu Talvi. Ryhmäkilpailussa (FCI5/6, tuomarina Pekka Teini) se pääsi jatkoon mutta ei sijoittunut.

Raimo (Maple Bay Thyme Waits No One) was today BOB and received a CC which finished his Finnish Champion title at the Jämijärvi group show, our judge was Mr. Hannu Talvi, Finland.
At the group competition (combined groups FCI5 and 6, judged by Mr. Pekka Teini, Finland) he made the cut but was not placed.

Viime vuosi vierähti pentutohinoissa ym. niin, että jäi 2019 tulokset ja muutkin asiat päivittämättä kokonaan. Pennut löysivät kukin omat kotinsa, kaksi urosta lähti Yhdysvaltoihin ja yksi narttu Iso-Britanniaan, muut jäivät Suomeen. Kotiin jäi kasvamaan maksanvärinen poika, Viljami (Maple Bay We Belong To You And Me).

Last year went by so quickly with the puppies etc. that I did not have time to update any results or anything. The puppies all went to their new homes, two boys went to US, one girl to UK, the rest stayed in Finland. One liver boy stayed home, Viljami (Maple Bay We Belong To You And Me).

Sheila synnytti eilen 11 pentua: 6 urosta (4 b&t, 2 l&t) ja 5 narttua (1 b&t, 4 l&t). Emä ja pennut voivat hyvin!

Yesterday Sheila gave birth to 11 puppies: 6 boys (4 b&t, 2 l&t) and 5 girls (1 b&t, 4 l&t). Mom and puppies are all doing fine!
