Helsinki Winner 2010 & Winner 2010 shows 11-12.12.2010

Leila oli ROP molempina päivinä Messarissa ja sai kaksi uutta titteliä: Helsinki Winner 2010 ja Voittaja 2010. Lauantaina tuomarina oli Jos de Cuyper Belgiasta ja sunnuntaina Paul Jentgen Luxemburgista. Lauantaina kehässä oli viisi vihiä ja VSP oli ruotsalainen uros Ovillig. Leila took BOB both days at the Fair Center and got two new titles: Helsinki Winner 2010 and Winner 2010. On Saturday the judge was Mr. Jos de Cuyper from Belgium and on Sunday Mr. Paul Jentgen from Luxembourg. On Saturday five bloodhounds were shown and BOS was a Swedish male Ovillig. Leila oli Jyväskylässä ROP, vihit arvosteli Dan Ericsson Ruotsista. Fredi (ja muut, Vili ja Veeti) sai vain EH:n.

Leila took BOB in Jyväskylä, bloodhounds were judged by Mr. Dan Ericsson, Sweden. Fredi (and others, Vili and Veeti) only got a "very good".

Maple Bay Old Firesoul "Finn" (Italy)

Uusi kuva ihanasta "keltaisesta pojasta", joka lähti Italiaan työkoiraksi. "Finn" ja ohjaajansa Enrico maalimiehellä lokakuussa, tuloksena hyväksytty koe ja MTI-titteli (Mantrailer Intermediate). Kiitos kuvasta Marlenelle! :) Myös Pluto-veli suoritti MTI:nsä, kuten myös Delta-sisko omansa jo aiemmin. Onnea kaikille koirille ja ohjaajilleen!

New picture of the lovely "yellow boy", who went to Italy for a SAR dog. "Finn" and his handler Enrico at the end of the trail in October, the result was the trial passed and a new MTI title (Mantrailer Intermediate). Thanks for the picture Marlene! :) Also brother Pluto passed his MTI, and so did sister Delta already earlier. Congrats to all the hounds and their handlers!

Leila took Group 4 in Seinäjoki, the group was judged by Mr. Gunnar Nyman (Denmark). Breed was judged by Mr. Paavo Mattila (Finland) with a fantastic critique!

Martta 8.4.2000 - 8.10.2010

Rakas Martta nukkui ikiuneen perjantaina 8.10.2010. Vaikka se olikin saanut lähes vuoden lisäajan diagnoosista, aika kului aivan liian äkkiä. Tällainen koira ei osu kohdalle montaa kertaa elämän aikana. Kiitos Heatherille ja Peterille, jotka antoivat minun jakaa elämäni tämän hyvin erityislaatuisen vaahteratytön kanssa.

My dear Martta passed away on Friday October 8th, 2010. Eventhough she had had almost one year of extra time after her diagnosis, the time passed way too quickly. One does not get a chance to know a dog like this many times in a lifetime. Thank you to Heather and Peter, who let me share my life with this very special Maple Girl.

Tervakoski Int Show 29.8.2010

Niilo sai viimeisen serttinsä ja oli ROP kera cacibin. Valion siitä teki Margaret Jones Kanadasta. Suuret kiitokset!

Vihejä oli paikalla neljä. Kajsa oli PN2.

Niilo got his last CC and took BOB with a cacib as well. He finished his championship under Mrs. Margaret Jones from Canada. A big thank you! Four bloodhounds were shown. Kajsa took Best Bitch 2.

Oulu KV / Int'l shows 10-11.7.2010

Leila kävi näyttelyssä Oulussa ja oli molempina päivinä ROP. Tuomarina oli lauantaina Hannu Talvi ja sunnuntaina Petru Muntean, Romania. Sunnuntaina myös Niilo pyörähti kehässä mutta sai tyytyä EH:hon, kun jalat olisivat saaneet olla pidemmät. ;)

Lauantai-iltana tavattiin sitten pitkästä aikaa ihana suklaanvärinen Vili-vihi, josta oli jo kasvanut komea nuori herra, ja tietenkin Kyllin luona oltiin yötä. Oikein hauska reissu oli!

Leila was shown in Oulu and took the breed both days. Our judge on Saturday was Mr. Hannu Talvi, Finland and on Sunday Mr. Petru Muntean, Romania. Also Niilo visited the showring on Sunday but he only got a "very good", as he should have had more leg. ;)

On Saturday night we met again the lovely chocolate coloured bloodhound Vili who has grown up to a handsome young man, and of course we stayed the night at Kylli's place. What a wonderful trip we had!

Leila ja Kajsa kävivät eilen Suomen Bassetkerhon erikoisnäyttelyssä Harjavallassa. Paikalla oli 8 vihiä, joista kaksi pentuluokassa. Leila oli ROP ja Best In Show 4. Se sai myös kiertopalkinnon parhaista liikkeistä. Kajsa oli PN-2 ja sai viimeisen serttinsä tullen muotovalioksi. Tuomarina oli Erja Nummi ja BIS-kehässä Gavin Robertson, Iso-Britannia.

Leilan arvostelu: ”Tyylikäs narttu, oikeat mittasuhteet. Kaunis ylälinja. Tyylikäs pää. Hyvä ilme, hyvä kaula. Erinomainen rintakehän syvyys ja pituus. Riittävä eturinta. Sopiva luuston vahvuus. Tasapainoisesti kulmautunut. Hyvät käpälät, kauniit liikkeet".

Leila and Kajsa were shown at the Specialty show of the Finnish Basset Hound club yesterday in Harjavalta. Eight bloodhounds were shown, of which two in puppy class. Leila took BOB and Best In Show 4. She also won the challenge cup for the best movement. Kajsa was 2^nd best bitch and got her last CC to finish her Ch title. Our judge was Mrs. Erja Nummi, Finland and in BIS ring Mr. Gavin Robertson, Great Britain.

Leila’s critique: “Classy bitch, correct proportions. Beautiful topline. Classy head. Nice expression, good neck. Excellent depth and length of ribcage. Adequate forechest. Proper strength of bone. Balanced angulations. Good feet, beautiful movement”.

Jälkikoe // Mantrailing trial, Kuru 30.5.2010

Leila ja Kajsa (kuvassa Titan kanssa) kilpailivat ensimmäistä kertaa avoimessa luokassa. Molemmat saivat AVO1 -tuloksen ja Kajsa oli kokeen kokonaisvoittaja! Myös emä Kylli sai jo toisen AVO1 -tuloksensa.

Tuomarina oli Ismo Koiranen.

Leila and Kajsa (pictured with Titta) competed in the open class for the first time. Both got OPEN1 -result and Kajsa was the grand trial winner! Also their dam Kylli got her 2nd OPEN1 -result.

Lahti KV / Int'l show 25.4.2010

Leila ja Fredi tulivat muotovalioiksi tänään Lahdessa, tuomarina oli Juhani Lappi. Leila oli ROP, kera sertin ja cacibin; Fredi VSP samoin. Kiitos Leena Leilan esittämisestä! :)

Leila and Fredi finished their Ch titles today in Lahti, our judge was Mr. Juhani Lappi. Leila took BOB with CC and cacib; Fredi took BOS with the same. Thanks to Leena for handling Leila! :)

Maple Bay Fire-pennut 2 vuotta // Maple Bay Fire-puppies 2 yrs old

Leila, Fredi, Kajsa sekä muut sisarukset ympäri Euroopan täyttivät eilen kaksi vuotta.

Lahjalelut menivät kyllä nopeasti "parempiin hampaisiin" (Niilo otti Fredin pehmovinkukanan, jonka Martta sittemmin "suolesti", ja Martta omi Leilan narutennispallon). :( No, muuten oli hauska synttäripäivä. Lisää juhlintaa on luvassa kunhan Kajsa-sisko tulee meille puolentoista viikon päästä!

Onnea kaikille sisaruksille!

Leila, Fredi, Kajsa and the other littermates around Europe turned 2 yrs old yesterday. However, toys that Leila & Fredi got for present were soon taken over by the "superior ones" (Niilo took Fredi's soft squeky chicken, which Martta then later on "killed" totally, and Martta took Leila's tennisball/rope combination). :( Well, other than that, the birthday was great. We'll celebrate more after 1,5 wks when sister Kajsa is coming over!

Martta 10 vuotta!! // Martta 10 yrs!!

Kymmenen vuotta sitten syntyi ihana Martta-pentu Kanadassa! Tänään juhlittiin "Maunon" synttäreitä perinteiseen tapaan: aamu alkoi onnittelulaululla ja herkkuja sateli aamusta lähtien. Eniten Martta taisi nauttia pizzan syönnistä. Edellisestä omasta pizzasta onkin jo muutama vuosi.. ;) Martta sai synttärilahjaksi ihanan kumikanan, jonka vinkuna katkesi tietenkin hetkessä. Sen jälkeen sitä kumia oli NIIN ihanaa narskutella hampaissa (outoja tapoja juu)! Ei kyllä uskoisi että se on kymmenvuotias, niin leikkisä ja nuorekas se on. Harmaatakaan ei juuri ole yhtään.

Onnittelut myös kolmelle siskolle USAaan, Kanadaan ja Sveitsiin!

Ten years ago the lovely Martta puppy was born in Canada! Today we celebrated "Mauno" 's birthday traditionally: the morning was started with the birthday song and she got lots of treats from early on. I guess she appreciated most her pizza. It had been a few yrs since she last time ate an own pizza. Martta got a wonderful rubber chicken for a b-day present. Of course the chicken didn't squeak for long, after which she enjoyed chewing the rubber with her teeth (talk about funny habits)! One could never believe she is 10 yrs old, she is so playful and youthful. She barely has any grey on her either. Congratulations to her three sisters in US, Canada and Switzerland as well!

Tampere KV / Int show 20.3.2010

Fredi ja Leila kävivät tänään näyttelyssä hienoin tuloksin: Fredi ROP, sert, cacib ja Leila VSP, sert, cacib. Tuomarina Rony Doedijns, Alankomaat. Kiitokset taas Leenalle ansiokkaasta Leilan esittämisestä! :)

Niilo 5 v ym. // Niilo 5 yrs etc.

Niilo tuli miehen ikään eilen 15.2. Juhlintaa luvassa viikonloppuna!!

Leila aloitti Kaverikoirailun sunnuntaina Hervannan kirkon laskiaistapahtumassa ja oli kuin

"kala vedessä". Häntä heilui koko ajan kuin parhaallakin noutajalla, lisäksi se kaulaili paikalle tullutta koirarakasta pastoria ja päätyi siinä samalla Kirkkosanomien kuvaajan filmille. ;) Julkaisua odotellessa.. Tämä homma sopii kyllä Leilalle kuin nenä päähän!

Niilo turned 5 yrs yesterday (Feb. 15th). We'll celebrate his birthday this weekend!

Leila started her career as a Canine Companion at the Shrove Sunday happening of the Hervanta church and she was like a fish in water. Her tail was wagging continuously if she was some retriever, and she also hugged & pawed with the dog-loving vicar who showed up and thus ended up on the film of the Church News photographer! Looking forward to when their next paper comes out.. This "job" really suits Leila like a glove!
